1. Identify an organizational problem that you would like to overcome.
- The problem I am facing, and looking to fix, is how I can expand the number of independent contractors (business's team) within the company. Doing this would allow more income, networking, and publicity for me and the business.
2. Describe your project work environment.
- The company I currently work for is Business Broker World. They are a private business brokerage that works with facilitating the process of buying/selling a business. It is real estate, but instead of residential or commercial, it is business (which not too many people are involved with). The company, Business Broker World, was started 5 years ago. As of now, there is the Broker (owner) of the company along with 3 other agents, including me. The Agent's job is to basically go out and find business owners that want to sell, advertise their business, and find a buyer that wants to buy it. At the end of this transaction, the agents would get a commission.
Now the Broker has just introduced another form of potential income that the agents can exploit. He mentioned that if we individually introduce someone to the team, we can be a part of the commission split once they accomplish a sale. This sounds nice upfront, but there is A LOT of work in between from getting them initially interested to accomplishing a sale.
